What is VPN?

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a private network that uses public infrastructure to connect remote users. A VPN creates a secure encrypted tunnel between two computers or devices over a shared network.

    • How does VPN work?

    VPNs create a virtual private network by establishing a secure connection between two or more computers or devices. When you connect to a VPN server, your device appears to be connected directly to the VPN server instead of the public network. Your device then sends its requests through the VPN server, which routes them to the destination server. Once the request reaches the destination server, the VPN server decrypts the communication and forwards it to the destination computer.

    What is Site to Site VPN?

    A site-to-site VPN is a virtual private network (VPN) connection between two sites. A site-to-site connection is established over a public Internet connection. In order to establish a site-to-site tunneling protocol, at least one end of the connection need to have a valid IP address.

    Can Site to Site VPN work without static IP address on both ends?

    ConnectMe is able to establish site to site VPN tunnels even if neither end has a static public IP address using our cloud bridge technology.

    What is a cloud router?

    A cloud router is a device that connects to your internet service provider (ISP) and gives you access to their network. You then use this connection to connect to the internet via your ISP's network. Your ISP provides you with a unique IP address, which is how they identify you online. When you're connected to the internet using a cloud router, your computer uses your ISP's network instead of its own internal network to send data back and forth.

    Why would I want to use a cloud router?

    Using a cloud router means that you don't have to worry about setting up your own local network. Instead, you just need to plug your device into the cloud router and start surfing the web. Cloud routers are great if you're looking to save money on your monthly internet bill.

    ConnectMe VPN Box is a Dual-concurrent Access Point, that provides Wifi coverage for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies at the same time. In adition to thatm it has five 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports provide Gigabit connections for your wired devices, and USB port that can be used for external storage or 4G/LTE modem connection.

    Can ConnectMe VPN Box powered with PoE?

    Yes, it can be powered from the power jack or with passive PoE from a PoE injector.
